Description
Now, there was one last thing on my research list and that was something called microneedling and even with all the bad reviews , I called the clinic to make an appointment.
Their doctors assured me that the method is safe and I had nothing to worry about.
They even said it had a really high rate of success which was something that brought me a little bit of joy, I’ll admit.
Sure, $800 per session was a bit pricey, but when desperate…
The whole thing lasted a couple of minutes but being pierced with a needle again and again feels like an eternity in hell…
Now I had to wait for 6 weeks before I saw the first results but three days after the first session I was in for a big and horrible surprise.
I noticed that my scalp had some sort of irritation and a strange pigment, in fact it started swelling like crazy , getting as red as a tomato on a hot summer day. That's without even mentioning that I even noticed more hair falling.
I thought my scalp was supposed to look like this.
But then one late afternoon, I started feeling all dizzy and trembling.
I somehow managed to grab my phone before collapsing onto the floor.
Next thing I know I woke up on a hospital bed, with the doctors talking loudly outside my room.
“The infection has spread too far. We’re gonna lose him”.
Those were the last words I heard before falling into unconsciousness.
Apparently, as I later found out, those tiny wounds on my head from the needles ended up causing a severe infection underneath my skin and from there it spread into my bloodstream.
Where it caused severe shock , to a point that very few manage to escape from!
Luckily I’m still alive today and somehow I managed to recover fully.
It was now my 2nd day of hospitalization and I honestly couldn’t believe that a loudly proclaimed “safe treatment” had almost taken my life away…
Caused even more hair loss and a scalp almost scarred for life.
But sometimes things do happen for a reason, because next to my bed, there was a note from the doctor that saved my life.
Dr. Purvis.
The note said “I can help you with your problem” and below there was his phone number.
Now, I didn’t know Dr. Purvis all that well, so I did a little bit of research before calling him.
Apparently, he was not your regular everyday doctor.
He was actually an extremely famous and highly praised hair transplant surgeon , specialized in the most complicated and difficult hair restorations, and exclusively performed surgeries on A-list actors, world famous singers and top government officials.
And as if this wasn’t huge enough, Dr. Purvis had been receiving countless medical awards and even the Medallion for Scientific Achievement, the highest recognition a surgeon can get.
